Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)

Curriculum Area Leader: Mrs A Forrester

At Coppice Performing Arts School, students in Years 7, 8 and 9 are "banded", with 3 sets in each band, a top set, middle set and a smaller set where support is more easily targeted.

Learning Environment & Resources

The Modern Foreign Languages department is situated in the Communications Zone. There are three teaching rooms and an open learning area equipped with desk top computers. A trolley of 30 laptops is available to use for lessons and private study outside of lesson time.

The Department has developed a wide range of activities for use with the interactive whiteboards available in each teaching room. A range of specialist software titles is available for use in lessons and for revision purposes. Many resources have been produced "in-house" for use exclusively by our students, and we have invested in new course material in line with the new GCSE specification.
